Newport News Park to Yorktown Victory Monument
A Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix Event

This race was originally held from 1976 (a Bicentennial event) through 1990 as a Peninsula Track Club event.
This year's Colonial Road Runners race is a return of "A Run Through History."
The course is a scenic tour of park roads, the Swamp Bridge, Fire Trail and Bikeway trails in Newport News Park, followed by the Yorktown Battlefield tour roads, and finishing on York County roads (Surrender, Cook and Zweybrucken) to the Yorktown Victory Monument.
Weather was cool (mid-40s), sunny and breezy.

For Mark Tompkins, the Menchville High School track coach, it was his fourth consecutive victory in a CRR race. For Jennifer Quarles (the CRR Grand Prix champion in 2003 and 2004), it was her second consecutive CRR win.
