After winning the CRR's 5K Run for Mental Health in 16:10 on April 27 at Eastern State Hospital, William & Mary chemistry professor Rob Hinkle won again in 16:10 May 5 at JCC Pre-School 5K in Newport News. Brian Der was second (17:17), while Jonathan Dachos, 37, was third (18:28).

In the women's race at JCC, the top three were Sharon White (20:16), Valerie Plyler (20:39) and Warwick High's Megan LaVoie (20:53).

The one mile run was won by Lindsay Kent (6:05) for the girls, and DeVinn Harrison, 10, of Hampton (6:44) for the boys. There were 97 finishers in the 5K and 64 finishers in the one mile.
